Four Amazing Facts You Probably Didn't Know About Cars

Cars truly go beyond just having four wheels and an engine to propel it, it's the complex machine that is yet simple despite its complexity, Cars remain one of the most innovative inventions of Man since the beginning of time aiding in the movement of people and goods from one point to the other in a quick and more secure manner.



Yes you might claim to know a lot about cars especially if you have them in varieties, I mean shapes and sizes, that alone doesn't guarantee you have a great knowledge about cars, yes you know a whole lot about the latest models =, engine types and specifications  different levels of after sale modifications but that's not it all.

Do you know that there are some amazing facts you still do not know about cars and their mechanisms, basic facts that you probably might not have thought of about you everyday car?

Let's outline these simple facts you probably did not know about cars.

1. JUST TWO COMPONENTS.

Do you realize that your car is made up of just two components, the sensors, and actuators, forget the buzz of having your car comprising of several components it is just the sensors and actuators that drive your car all the way lets explain this analogy in a simple to understand format.

All car components are categorized into two, the sensors and actuators, sensors are responsible for sending out signals more like a command to the actuators  while these  actuators simply implement these signals into action or performance,  take for instance you intend to crank up a car engine, immediately you turn on the ignition the brain box which is made up of sensors sends the necessary signals to then fuel pump , injector nozzles and ignition coils to light up the engine same goes  to the other components in a car before an action is carried out signals would have been passed.

2. GEAR RATIO EQUALS SPEED

Contrary to the fact that the  bigger the faster  it is actually the better the gear ratio then the faster, lets explain this a little bit more, a cross section of car enthusiast's believe the size of a car engine will determine how fast it can go, this is not exactly the case as the speed of a car is largely determined by its gear ratio.

The size of the engine can only give maximum torque known as the twisting force, but to better maximize this force for adequate speed a car also needs good gear ratio, to achieve this.

3. SMALL IS FASTER

You might always assume that bigger cars are a lot faster than small cars, well that  used to be the case in times past, these days small cars seem a bit faster despite the sizes of their engines, all thanks to better aerodynamics designs they seem to move a bit quicker than bigger cars, I bet you also didn't know that.



4. BIGGER IS SAFER

Of recent car safety standard have rapidly been tightened up but then its a no brainer to understand the fact that bigger cars are a lot safer than smaller cars why because they weigh more are a lot roomier and can withstand much more pressure in the case of crashes.
