Stop! You Might Be Messing Up That Key Fob

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you park your car lock it up with your remote key fob and  20 minutes later you go back to open your car but the car doesn't respond, !yes the car fails to open, this is simply because the key fob is usually mishandled by car owners in most cases.

Cars of today are literally computers on wheels, this is to say that our cars have really evolved from being just mere mechanical contraptions to machines so intelligent even to the extent of self-propulsion.

The key fob would have failed to respond thereby not opening the car because it might have been kept too close to your mobile phones or computer (laptop)!YES mobile phones.

In these days of sophisticated mobile devices of all kinds, tablets ipads and phones of all sorts , people are in the habit of moving around with more than one of these gadgets at the same time , with these items held or kept closely to their car keys (fob) this can simply damage the key fob or make it unresponsive.

REASONS

A key or fob (as it's called) of a modern car is made up of a microchip that is responsible for activating the transponder technology for opening, locking and sometimes starting the car.

Our mobile phones and computers unknown to us discharge conflicting magnetic signals which are very dangerous to these tiny microchips embedded in our car key fobs. these signal if constantly exposed to these key fobs could seemingly damage them and cause them not to respond the next time we need to open the car.

OTHER FACTORS

Asides placing your car keys near your phones there are other factors that can also ensure that your car keys don't work.
Frequently pressing your key fob away or far off from your car could also prevent it from working this is because these key fobs send signals to the E.C.M (brain box) using codes.

Take for instance the car is shut and the E.C.M registers code 202 from the key fob if by chance away from the car the key fob is pressed frequently (sometimes by children) the code 203 which is supposed to connect with the code 202 previously registered by the E.C.M would have been skipped and as such the key fob becomes dysfunctional at that moment. in this case, it takes persistent pressing of the key fob to (which in this process the codes are been recycled so that both the E.C.M and the key fob codes would match) eventually correct this.

Repeated dropping off your key fob to the ground or seemingly exposing it to water and other liquids could also damage the key fob.

ONE WORD

It's best to keep your key fob away from your mobile phones and computers to prevent any damage.

Hope this Helps.
