History
The Santana was first released in 1981 by renowned German Automakers Volkswagen as one of its mid sized sedans, one unique feature of this great cars is the different names its got.
Popularly referred to as the Santana in Europe and most parts of the world, it was also known as the Volkswagen Quantum in North America, the Volkswagen carat in south America, the Volkswagen Corsar in Argentina, and the Santana Vista in its latest redesigned model for the Chinese market.
With the discontinuation of the Santana name badge in 1985 the Volkswagen Santana was redesigned and sold as the passat, this production continued for the next few years with its final production for Europe in 1988.
Production of the Santana spanned across different countries, like Brazil , Mexico , Argentina , Japan And China.

The Santana was originally designed as a mid sized sedan with subsequent variations like the wagon / estate evolving later on in the ;picture, its features included a spacious cabin , Neatly designed Interiors and upholstery, Dynamic wheel base, rack and pinion steering system audio cassette system, Front and rear disc and servo brakes, McPherson Struts coil springs and dampers for front suspension, while its rears suspensions comprised of stabilizer axle and telescopic dampers.
The Volkswagen Santana was driven with by a 1.8 / 2.0 inline four cylinder litre engine, these engines were capable of providing a peak power of 70.5 kw to 73.5 kw and a peak torque of 143 N.M to 162 N.M, and a maximum speed of 168 to 171 km h.
The Volkswagen Santana was also equipped with power locks and windows and air condition.
