The engine oil in your car engine is the life and bloodline of your engine without it many things would go wrong, maybe this is an understatement to say, I cannot imagine an engine that would run for at least 10 minutes without having engine oil in.

I am compelled to write this post given the rather recurrent disparity of when appropriate to do a regular Oil and fitter change for your car engine as a precautionary measure most manufacturers of today's cars emphatically state when its best appropriate to do a routine oil change for their various brands be it a Honda, Toyota, Mercedes or Nissan every car there cars spec has its own service interval.

When to do an oil change for your car requires a few consideration
these considerations will determine when best you can carry out an oil change for your car regardless if your car has attained the required mileage for this, these factor includes your driving pattern, the Kind of oil you use, engine type, and the age of the car

For most Japanese-made cars and indeed every car on the road the appropriate interval of when to do an oil change is pegged at every 7,000 kilometers regardless of any factor most technicians stick to this time circle which is a common practice.

DRIVING PATTERN

Your driving pattern tells a lot about when to do an oil change for your car this is so because many motorists are cut every day of the week either in stop-and-go traffic or on the highways, these are two different scenarios that affect the time interval of when to do your oil change if you are the type that is always cut up in traffic or you live very close to noisy and polluted areas its best to do your service one every month or at; least every 5,000 kilometers, reason because while in traffic your engine takes in carbon monoxide from the pollution created by other vehicles and from a considerable hot environment, these factors contribute in breaking down the compounds of your engine oil much faster, therefore, rendering it less efficient as the days go by, when caught up in stop and go traffic regularly always ensure to do your oil change every single month or at best every 5,000 kilometers.

OIL TYPE
Engine oil type goes a long way in determining when to do an oil change for your car, be it synthetic oil or regular once, for synthetic oil service intervals or oil change tends to take a bit longer because of the quality of the oil, but if your car uses a regular oil its best to do your oil change quite sooner than expected, my best bet here is to do an oil change for synthetic oil at the stipulated 7,000 km while your regular or non-synthetic oil change should adhere strictly at 5,000 km.

ENGINE TYPE

Engine type goes a long way in determining when you do an oil change, there are several engine types out there, be it high-performance engines or regular engines, high-performance engines are those engines that are built with an extra purpose in mind these engines are specifically found in cars with higher specifications and limited ans sports editions and are thought to perform at a higher capacity than the normal engines if your car is driven by a high-performance engine it's imperative that you do an oil change at manufacturers specified time-frame or on the safe side of every 3,000 km given the complex nature of your car.

AGE OF CAR

The age of your car also determines when to do your oil change, engines of older cars require these regular oil changes to stay fit because of the compulsory wear and tear that they might have passed through over the years, as the car gets older  a regular oil change of at least 3,000 km is required to keep the engine up to date

Regardless of the above-mentioned facts it's best to stick to your car manufacturer's manual for when to do oil change but a close consideration must be factored on the first point, yes most cars even go as far as 7 to 8,000 kilometers before an oil change for new cars and small trucks and SUV, S the ideal service interval should always be at 5,000 km, while older one can stick to the 3,000 mark for maintenance purpose.
