Hi, Guys good to be back again after what seemed like a little sabbatical, our focus today is the cars that made our yesteryear a treat and today we'll take a look at the Peugeot 505.

I call this car the stallion perhaps maybe as a result of my sentimental attachment to this reliable mechanical beast, I stand to be corrected though.

First launched in Sochaux France in 1979 the Peugeot  505 was
built as a direct successor to the very successful 504 at that time, the Peugeot 505 was built in two  main body styles the 4-door saloon and the 5-door estate, with the coupe and other Revised versions that came much later,

For me, the high points about this car remain its balance and stability on rough roads which its predecessor the 504 never really had this made the 505 a much talked about car at its prime.

Popularly referred to as the "African workhorse" the 505 clearly stood out for its good ground clearance which also accounts for its balance, neatly styled cockpit, and shorter gear ratio which necessitated easy transmission shift.

Technical Specifications of the 505 varied according to models, in general, the 505 happens to be the last Peugeot car driven by the rear axle, its suspension system comprised of semi-trailing arms with coil springs at the rear, McPherson strut and coil spring at the front, the 505 was available with petrol engine and diesel engines alike, with a transmission option of 4 and 5 speed for manual 3 and four-speed for automatic, its steering system consisted o a tack and pinion.

Arguably one of the best cars to be manufactured by Peugeot in that era and indeed of all time the 505 is an embodiment of a beautifully styled outlook, efficient engines, good handling, and a comfortable interior.
