Signs That Your Engine Mounts Are Going Bad.

Yes it is true that the most important component in a car remains the engine which in other words is also subdivided, to most motorists importance is usually attached to this very important component (the engine) which happens to be the nerve Center of the vehicle and as such little or no attention paid to other smaller but very important sub components.
Let us ask ourselves, how does an engine rest on the frame of a car?
The answer simply is the engine mount. How well an engine or better still a car performs is dependent on the overall condition of this important but yet over looked Accessory.

ENGINE MOUNT
Engine mounts are small rubber like devices fitted in the hood of an automobile for the purpose of stabilizing and properly aligning the engine especially during operation.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THESE ACCESSORIES GO BAD?
There are several symptoms or an abnormality that comes to play when an engine mount begins to malfunction, but we ll take a look at the key symptoms.

ENGINE VIBRATION
Engine mounts are specifically fitted on vehicles to secure the engine, when these mounts go bad the engines becomes insecure with this causing the engine to bounce during movement which leads to vibrations.

MISALIGNMENT S
Engine mounts are fitted into a vehicle in order to maintain proper alignment, if the engine mounts go bad the engine may sag, drop or tilt as the case may be, the resultant effect of this is that this may cause the car to stall while in motion.

BROKEN PARTS, BELTS AND HOSES
Engine parts may go bad due to bad mounts ,at top speed the engine is susceptible to various degrees of movement at this point when the the engine mounts are not in place , parts like hoses , belts could be ripped off.

ENGINE DAMAGE
Bad mounts can also attribute to engine damage, engine mount are built to keep an engine stable at top speed, when these items go bad there’s tendency that the engine would bounce back and forth, this could lead to total engine damage.

EXCESSIVE NOISE
Excessive noise may result from broken or damaged engine mounts, these noises could be in form of knocking or clanking sounds which would indicate the existence of an underlying problem.

DAMAGE TO DRIVE SHAFTS (PECULIAR WITH FOUR WHEEL DRIVE)
Bad engine mounts could also affect the overall performance of the drive shaft; this is because when the engine mounts go bad the engine isn’t secure at this point there’s tendency that the engine weight slightly rests on the drive shaft, which compromises its performance and overall vehicle speed.

Engine mounts are quite little but very significant parts of a car, the overall state of this mounts goes a long way in determining an engines maximal performance and overall well being
